First I vacuumed away all the dust on them .. that was one heck of an

improvement already.

Then, in a spray bottle, I mixed some Oxy-Clean powder with lukewarm water
& sprayed it evenly all over the lamp shade which I had placed into the
bath tub. The dirt seemed to melt away before my eyes.

After letting it soak for 10 minutes, using the shower head, I simply
sprayed the entire lamp shade with cold water to rinse it until the water
ran clear.

I try to never use brushes or sponges on fabric for fear of roughing up
the fabric & then it just doesn't look the same anymore.

I then let the lamp shade air dry & it now looks like new!

Good luck ~ I hope this BRIGHTENS ur day or at least ur lamp shades! ; )

First vacuum well. Then there are dry cleaning sponges used by

shops. You wipe the shades with these....carefully. I've even used the

Use suds on a soft brush to rub any spots lightly. Then dip the

shade up & down. When the water gets dirty, change to clean sudsy water.

To dry a fabric shade, tie a string to the middle of the frame. Then hang
it over the bathtub or hang it from a clothesline outdoors to drip dry. Or
you can wipe the shade with a bath towel until it is almost dry. Then put
it back on the lamp & turn on the light so the heat from the bulb will
help it to finish drying. If the lampshade has ruffles, ''press'' them
with ur finger
